FAQ No. FAQ00657
Question
What is the Run/Stop function? Also, please
tell me how to set it on the E5[]N.
Answer
1. What Is the Run/Stop
Function?
• This function is used to designate “run” or “stop” in the Operation
Level.
• When “run” is selected, the Temperature Controller operates, and when
“stop” is selected, it stops. When the Temperature Controller is stopped,
the STOP indicator will light.
• This function is used, for example, when it is necessary to temporarily
stop the Temperature Controller during system maintenance.
• Even when this function is set to “stop,” however, functions other than
the control outputs (such as alarms) are output exactly as they are set.
• The default setting is “run.”
<<Precautions»
• The Run/Stop function can also be set for an event input.
• When set for an event input, the Run/Stop setting cannot be changed
using the front keys. (Also, in this case, the "r-s" parameter will not be
displayed.)
2. Setting the RUN/STOP Function
2-1. After turning ON the power and
confirming that the Operation Level is being displayed, press the Mode Key
several times to display the Run/Stop parameter. (See Figure 1.)
When "run" is displayed at the bottom of the display, the Temperature
Controller will operate.
When "stop" is displayed at the bottom of the display, the Temperature
Controller operation will be stopped.

2-2. Press the Up/Down Keys to switch
the setting to “Run” or “Stop” (Figure 2).
<<Precautions»
If the power is turned OFF immediately after
changing the setting, the change will not take effect. Either wait for
about 2 seconds after making the change, or press the Mode Key to enter
the change.
2-3. Press the Mode Key several times
to return to the present value/target value display.
• When the parameter is set to “Run,” the Temperature Controller will
output exactly as set, displaying "OUT1" when OUT1 is ON, and "OUT2" when
OUT2 is ON.
• When the parameter is set to “Stop,” the Temperature Controller will
stop operating, and "STOP" will be displayed as the operation.
<<Precautions»
1. When the parameter is set to “Run,” and control output 1 is a current
output, "OUT1" will remain OFF.
2. When the parameter is set to “Stop,” all functions (such as alarms)
other than control output will output as set.

Please tell me of any precautions for extending the lead wires of a Temperature Sensor.
There seems to be a large error in the temperature of the Temperature Controller. Why?
