As reflected in
its corporate motto, "At work for a better life, a better world for all," Omron
strongly believes that in order to be a truly successful company, it must also be a
responsible citizen in the local communities where it does business. The company works to
achieve this in two ways first by offering innovative products and services that
improve the quality of living and second by making direct contributions to society through
volunteer activities and donations. As a result, offices in the Asia Pacific region and
around the world are dedicated to taking an active role in their local communities.
In 1972 Omron and Japan Sun
Industries established Omron Taiyo, a joint venture company with the mission to provide
gainful employment to handicapped persons. The company manufactured power relays and was
so successful that similar companies were established by companies such as Sony and Honda.
Omron also established another such company, Omron Kyoto Taiyo, in 1981. |

Internationally Omron supports
events like the Oita International Wheelchair Marathon while in local communities the
company supports cultural events, the arts, and education. In the Asia Pacific region
Omron has dedicated itself to contributing to the advancement of regional economies. The
company is contributing to the educational development of highly proficient engineers
throughout the region through a series of donations of factory automation courses and
equipment to prominent universities and technical institutions.
On 10th May,
the anniversary of Omrons foundation, employees around the world volunteer their
time to worthy causes. In the Asia Pacific region, activities range from spending time
talking with residents at retirement homes to cleaning up parking parks and donating time
to local charities. |
