E-Stop Switch Accessories for Better Safety Installations

A22E Emergency Stop Switch

JUNE 23, 2004 (ASIA PACIFIC) - Omron Asia Pacific is proud to announce the release of several new external-mounted accessories to their existing A22E E-Stop Switch range.

The current A22E E-Stop Switches are 22-mm in diameter and are designed to be flush-mounted into either a panel or control box (A22Z-B101Y; rated to IP65). All units provide finger-protection and comply with several safety standards. They have a current carrying capacity of up to 10A, at up to 440V AC.

A wide range of differing switch types are available, including 30, 40 or 60 mm diameter heads, some of which can be lit or unlit, optional voltage reduction unit, various switch configurations etc.

The new accessories include two types of shrouds, recessed around the switches with 40mm heads. The shrouds improve the overall appearance of the switch but do not restrict airflow around it. They provide two main advantages: they minimize unintentional activation (thereby reducing unnecessary system interruptions) and protect the switch mechanism from accidental damage.

The shrouds are available with either full enclosure around the switch (A22Z-EG2) or partial enclosure (A22Z-EG1). The former shroud complies fully with both the SEMI S2-0200 and SEMATECH Application Guide standards; the latter shroud complies only partially with these standards.

Spacers are available to determine the amount of protrusion from the control panel, as is a legend plate with black writing on a yellow background.
